What is Metal For Good?
The rock and metal community is truly unique. We’re brought together by a shared love of great music and a deep sense of belonging. We feel part of something bigger – accepted, understood, and supported, like someone’s always got our back.
Music is transformational. Whether playing, listening or watching live – it can be an escape when you are struggling, give you a voice when you feel unheard, bring people together, and give you the confidence and skills to thrive.
Through our fundraising, we provide grants to community organisations that use music to change lives. Previously funded projects include The Music Works, Heads Above The Waves and Gig Buddies.
The passion and generosity of the rock and metal community powers every grant we give. We raise funds year-round by selling merchandise, partnering with industry allies, and offering preloved alternative clothing.
Our annual campaign – Metal Merch Day, invites fans to give back in true metal style. We also run the Metal Collective – a unique supporters’ club where members make a small monthly donation and play an active role in shaping the future of the metal world.

Togetherness
It’s that moment at a gig when thousands of voices rise as one to sing your all-time favourite song. In the rock and metal community, you’re never alone – you’re part of something bigger. Everyone around you understands exactly how you feel, and for that moment, you belong completely.
Individuality
In the rock and metal world, self-expression isn’t just accepted – it’s celebrated. Lobster costume at a festival? Go for it. Full-on corpse paint for a shop run? Why not? Here, being unapologetically yourself is the norm. Our differences don’t divide us – they define us.
Passion
You won’t find passion like a metal fan reliving their favourite live show. Every note, every lyric, every roar of the crowd- it all means something. It stays with you.
Integrity
If you’ve ever been knocked down in a mosh pit, you’ll know your feet won’t have left the ground before someone’s helping you up. In our world, integrity, decency, and kindness always win.
Belonging
Being part of the rock and metal community is like finding your chosen family. Walking through the gates of your favourite festival feels like coming home. You can spot a fellow fan a mile away – and you’ll swap stories with a total stranger just because of their band shirt. It’s more than music. It’s where you belong.
